The Cometa Società Agricola Cooperative was founded in 1968 by 40 producers, who started up activities in 1973 by simply building a store in Via Canale 1300. Since then, the store has been more and more enlarged, thus allowing the Cooperative to increase the yield of potatoes and onions from 2,000 tons in 1974 to some 25/26,000 tons over the last few years. The cooperative consists of about one hundred members, who are responsible for potato and onion growing in all relevant companies forming the group. The entire production of our members is monitored through strict audits and analyses before and after the harvest, in compliance with the criteria provided for by DIP (production specification) being in force in the Emilia Romagna region. The cooperative is part of the Apo Conerpo group and Naturitalia, which supply organized distribution centres, fruit and vegetable markets, export markets and the Food Industry through integrated management.
